Weymouth Pavilion Theatre

The clocks have gone back, the nights are drawing in and thoughts are turning to Christmas and the Pavilion Theatre has the perfect gift for you, an autumn of great shows.

November brings a Christmas Party night with That’ll be The Day and their fantastic Christmas Show, tickets are selling fast so book early to guarantee a seat. Following this WOW Youth Musical Theatre Group will be all at sea with their production of Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes” featuring classics “It’s De-lovely”, “I Get a Kick” and “You’re the Top”. The Up-Beat Beatles take you back to the 60’s with an evening of Beatles music as it should be played. 5, Six, 7, 8 and we are away with Weymouth Dance Studio’s biennial show, featuring students of all ages. Then it’s Pantomime Time!!

The Wizard of Oz is turning out to be a local favorite with it returning again this year. Joel Beckett from BBC’s East Enders will be performing in his first pantomime, taking on the role of the Wizard of Oz himself, but don’t worry about Joel he has a cast of seasoned pantomime professionals to help him along, although if the read through is anything to go by he won’t be needing any help. Michelle Whitney will be taking that giant step over the rainbow as the day dreaming Dorothy. Chelsie Padley will be keeping an eye on Dorothy when she lands in Munchkin land, which is populated by teams of local dance students. Hoping to put a spanner in the works is local actress Sarah Aveling who will be reprising her role of the Wicked Witch. Do you know what though, I think Dorothy might be ok because she has her three friends, Scarecrow, Tin-man and Lion to look after her. With spectacular moving set, wonderful costumes and original music The Wizard of Oz ticks all the boxes for the perfect family outing, you can even have a panto tea in the green room and give the kitchen a miss for the night.

What ever you are doing for Christmas this year we hope you have a warm and peaceful one and we look forward to seeing you back in the New Year.
