Weymouth Harbour has been operating under Weymouth and Portland Borough Council since 1861 and is also now co-managed by the Harbour Management Board, providing berths for visiting vessels in the heart of the old town of Weymouth as well as permanent berths in our marinas situated just the other side of the town bridge.
The area received one of the worlds greatest accolades when Weymouth and Portland were chosen for the sailing venue for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic games

Weymouth and Portland are establishing itself as a Marine Centre of Excellence with many developments progressing within the marine sector. Dean and Reddyhoff have built a 600 berth yacht marina at the Osprey Quay development on Portland and Sunseekers have manufacturing facilities on site. There have also been a growth in marine supply businesses that can assist with all your boating needs such as repairs to sails, engines, hulls and rigging.
There are a number of projects planned in the run up to 2012, including multi-million pound repairs to the town's sea defences and associated walkways, substantial new affordable housing and one project that is already underway the Weymouth relief road.
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Weymouth and Portland is easily accessible by road and rail, London and the M25 are within three hours drive. The M5, providing links to Wales and the Midlands, is only an hour away. Numerous express coaches call at Weymouth from points all over the country and Weymouth is the nearest UK Port to Cherbourg and is an ideal stop over, whether you are coastal cruising or repairing for a crossing to Northern France or the Channel Islands.
